Imported beerxml files won't save to "my recipes"

I have some recipes created on another app, and am in the process of switching to beersmith. I exported them as beerxml files in the other app and then opened them in beersmith. I want to edit and save them to "my recipes". It seems that I can save the file in its original location, but it never appears under "my recipes".  I've tried moving the files to My Documents/BeerSmith2, even saving them as .bsmx, to no avail.
Am I missing something or is this a bug?

I had to sort that out as well. When you open the file with BS, you then copy the file and paste it into my recipes. You can use the traditional keyboard shortcuts or the copy and paste buttons in BS.
