Adding ingredients such as Vanilla and Chocolate

How do I add ingredients such as vanilla, chocolate etc.
I know there has to be a way to add common ingredients, other than using notes, but I am just not seeing it.

In the Menu bar, select Insert and choose Add Misc...  From this tab, enter the information about the ingredient and then click the Ok (upper right corner) to save and close.  You can do this to add any ingredient you want.
