Hi Brad:
My friends had sent me a couple of recipes, as a BSMX file thru my email, when I clicked to download the file, it opened up with Wordpad and it looks like computer language.
I'm using BeerSmith 1.4  and my friends are using version 2. Is there any way I can open these files with the current version of BeerSmith that I have?
Thanks Brad.

Not using BSMX, but you can exchange BSM files (BeerSmith 1.4 format).  In BeerSmith2, right click on the recipe, click on "Export selected" and then at the bottom of the save dialog set the "Save as Type" to save it as a BSM (BeerSmith 1.x) file.  The BSM files can be read/written in both versions.

Brad
