FG after carbonation

Hi folks.  I am new to this forum, and a brewer for 6 months now.  I forgot to check the FG on my last brew before I carbonated it.  Does anyone know how to correct the measured gravity after  it  has been carbonated?

Just take a sample, shake it a little, let it sit a couple hours and the gas will go away.

Simple enough.  I should of thought of that.  One of the hazzards of sampling while brewing.  Thanks
