Ron is the author of dozens of books and articles on historical beer brewing including his most recent effort to document British brewing during World War II. You can find his articles and purchase his books from his blog and Youtube Channel which can be found here at <a href=\"https:\/\/barclayperkins.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shut Up About Barclay Perkins<\/a>.<\/li> <li>We begin by discussing some of Ron&#8217;s recent travels.<\/li> <li>Ron tells us about the Golden Age of UK brewing which started in the 1880&#8217;s and lasted roughly up until World War I. He explains why this was one of the best times in British brewing with full strength beers and a wide variety of classic English styles brewed.<\/li> <li>He explains the &#8220;Free Mash Tun Act&#8221; and how it opened up UK brewing to a wide variety of beers and strengths.<\/li> <li>Ron tells us about some of the many styles that were popular back then.
