What is the correct setting when adding flameout hops to a recipe?
I use boil and set to zero minutes.What is the correct setting when adding flameout hops to a recipe?
Thanks Brad, this does make better sense. I usually turn off the flame, add the flame out hops and start the chiller all at the same time but there is still resident time at heat which does impact the total IBUs.Actually if you are leaving the wort hot for an extended time I would add them as whirlpool hops at the appropriate temperature (avg) and time.
