I decided to make two yeast starters as I will have two 5 Gallon Carboys to fill.
(1) 100 Billion cell Wyeast pkg, in 1.5 quarts of cooled water, first boiled 10 min with 6oz of DME. (times two for two setups).
The dammed things started bubbling an hour after I set the airlocks!
My question: I set this up Thursday night bout 9pm.
I am Brewing Sat morning, and will probably pitch in around 2- 3pm.
Thats about 38 hours?
Is that too long to have the starters going?
I don't have a stirplate, I have my wife swirling them around a bit while I'm at work!
