Crushed vs Non-Crushed

Hi everyone,
This may seem like a dumb question but in doing my first batch i did not crush my grains but did everything else right. I got a sg of 1.01 instead of 1.033 like i was supposed to. Should I even wait to see how it turns out after the yeast does its work or should I just scrap it. Thanks and have a good day yall! (Idk if it matters but it was for making a light lager)
Crushing the grains is very important as it opens up the starches to conversion to sugars and allows extraction.
