I had a friend give me a couple bags of hops that he picked and sealed and put in freezer.  I am doing an IPA and want to dry hop with them. Is there any chance of contamination? Considering they are hops, I wouldn't think so but would like some feedback on this. Don't want to waste a batch of beer.
Thanks,
Dan

No, at least not a viable one. I dry hop EVERY batch and have never had a problem. If they were put up properly (look for any discoloration or frost) you'll be OK.

One thing tho, unless you know  the variety he gave you .... they MAY or MAY NOT be appropriate for an IPA. HOWEVER, the "mother of invention" can produce some great results.

It's about discovery and fun!

Thanks for the input. They smell like Cascade hops, and have no discoloration so I am going to give it a shot.
