Mash Volumes

When designing a recipe in the mash tab I get two different strike water volumes for a single infusion mash. Dir example my 19.5lb grain bill at 1.25 qt/gal calls for 24.38qts (6.1 gal). I agree. There is an output for mash water needed that says 7.62 gallon. I’m sure this comes from my equipment profile but I’m unsure as to Where and why. Any advice?

I can make a few guesses, but it would be more productive if you posted a screen shot of your equipment profile and your 'vols' tab from your recipe. That would give enough information for some specific answers.

Its hard to say without looking at the actual recipe but it could be losses in the system (Mash Deadspace Losses), using a BIAB mash (which puts all water in the mash)?

I not only create a custom equipment profile but also custom mash profiles. Neither is very difficult to do.
