I have just installed the trial version and immediately received an error:  "can't open file 'C:\Users\Camp\Documents\BeerSmith2/Archive/Ar-4 17-22_15-37_22032.bsmx'  (error 5: access is denied.)"  Exiting BeerSmith causes a series of errors, one for each table that cannot be created.  I reselected ...BeerSmith as my preferred document directory.  No joy.  Note the transition to the forward slash "/" midway thru the file name.  Is Windows supposed to handle the forward slash?

Thanks for the help.

Solved!  It was an anti-virus program (BitDefender) blocking the rights of a new and unidentified program (BeerSmith) from changing files.  After BeerSmith was added as an authorized program all was good.
