Before I started to use BeerSmith for my brews, I always used my refractometer and noted the SG wort value. And now it is a habbit not easily forgotten.
So when I want to calculate SG of fermenting wort using BeerSmith, I have to first convert the SG reading to Brix.
Until recently I used image attached (RefractometerScale.jpg), but then I realized that it was not identical to mine (attached as TrueRefractometerScale.jpg) although both seem to originate from the same producer - ATC.
I know the difference isn't crucial, but why are there two different versions?
The rule of thumb says (SG -1000)/4 and that makes TrueRefractometerScale.jpg the closest match.
