Hi fellow brewers
Does any of you know if the salts mentioned in BeerSmith 'water Profile' section are hydrated ?
E.g. It says "Gypsum (CaSO4)" But gypsum means CaSO4+2H2O not CaSO4 only.
Or more commonly if one buys CaSO4, it's the CaSO4 + 0.5H2O (Plaster of Paris) type of hydrate.
It can be quite miss leading, because if the water in gypsum is not included the calc. will be of by about 26%.
