Sucrose for carbonation

As far as I can tell, the amount of sucrose specified for bottling to achieve a certain volume of CO2 is based on the Design batch size. Would it not be more sensible for this to be based on the measured batch size or (even better) the final bottling volume?

Always calculate using the volume of beer being primed. The difference between that and batch size can vary considerably.
 
That's my point: shouldn't BeerSmith calculate the sugar required from the bottling volume, not from the batch volume?

It does. Are you updating your fermenter loss in the equipment profile?

Your brewing log should reflect what actually happens.
