Hi, Im fairly new to Beer Smith and I apologize if this question has already been asked. I added a new miscellaneous item (water agent) while I was in the "add salt" section of the water profile page. And even though the item I added shows up in the misc list it doesn't show up in the water agent list. Thanks for the help.

Only the main six water salts are currently integrated into the water profile calculator and Magnesium Chloride is not one of them. The six main ones are set up with the calculator, water tool and recipe builder to allow you to quickly adjust the water profile.

While certainly other salts can be used, I simply don't have the program set up to work with every possible water salt.

You are correct. You can't add your own ingredients to the water agent list. There is some complicated chemistry going on with the water agents to predict pH, etc. It would not be possible to properly include the effects of user-added ingredients to this calculation.
