Yeast starter in Beersmith 3?

Hi all, i updated to version 3 today and wonder what happend to the liquid yeast starter option?
Worked great in version 2 imo.
 
There are two options for the yeast starter in BeerSmith 3.  The first is the stand alone starter which can be found under 'Tools' > 'Yeast Starter'.  The second is in the recipe on the 'Starter' tab.  This is exactly how it was in BS2 with the exception that the 'starter' tab will give you an option for a two stage starter.

 
The difference is that in v.2 you could make a liquid starter from a dry yeast under the starter tab, that isnt possible in v.3?
 
Ah, you had asked about the liquid yeast starter.  For some reason, Brad decided to take out the starter option within the recipe for dry yeast.  For the most part, it is often less expensive to just buy another packet of dry yeast instead of using a starter.

But, there is a way to trick the program and allow you to make a starter.  Within the recipe, edit the yeast and change the type to 'liquid'.  You will need to reset the cell count, as it defaults to 100 Billion per package.  You will then have the ability to make a starter on the starter tab.

Mostly because the dry yeast producers do not recommend a starter with dry yeast.  Dry yeast is packaged with nutrients to enable it to survive the rehydration.  Their standard packaging is to add enough cells such that there are the published number of cells active at the end of the recommended shelf life.  So in their view, trying to boost up the number of cells using a starter will not accomplish much since there are already too many viable cells to allow for much cell reproduction.
