There's an article on homebrewing software in the latest edition of Zymurgy. Of course, they have a section discussing Beersmith (along with many other alternatives). There was an interesting note at the end of the Beersmith section: "Smith is hard at work on version 4 and says it should be released around the time of this issue's publication." They subsequently mention enhancements expected in version 4. I hadn't seen any concrete information on Beersmith 4, certainly not an indication that it was expected to be released around July/August of 2025 (the edition of the Zymurgy article). I wonder if it was a misquote. Or is Beersmith 4 actually being released soon...?

BeerSmith 4 is in the works. I'm planning a release late this fall and hope to be in beta testing in the next few months. It is a large undertaking, as you might imagine, so I've not set a firm release date and likely won't do so until I'm well into beta testing.

Makes sense. I was surprised to see them suggest a release around the time of publication having not heard anything. Though I suppose Fall is sort of around the time of July/August :). Thanks, Brad. I can't wait...including potentially being a beta tester! ;-)

Still working hard, but of course I'm a few weeks behind. I'm planning to get the Windows beta out before Thanksgiving and if all goes well release early in the new year. The program is largely done, but I've been doing a number of data enhancements the last few weeks.
