Hello,

My mash tun is a converted bud light sankey keg and I"m planning on adding some Reflectix insulation around it.  I know the the standard "Mash Tun Specific Heat" value for stainless steal is 0.12, but would this value cange with adding the Reflectix insulation?

Thanks.

I doubt it. Specific heat seems more about how much strike temp water gets absorbed rather than how much it loses over time.

I used a bud  keg for mashing one time, it was easy to add heat if I guessed low, but also it seemed to hold heat really well even without insulation.
