Hey all,
First time Beersmith user and all grain homebrewer here.

When calculating the strike temp, the mash tab in the recipe and the infusion tool give me different numbers. The recipe says to add 17.69 qts of water at 162.8 F to reach a mash temp of 152 F. The infusion tool says to use 17.69 qts at 169.8 F. The water to grain ratios are the same in both calculations as well as temp of grain, specific heat of mash tun, etc.

How are these numbers different? Which one is correct?

Thanks

The infusion tool doesn't use all of the info your recipe screen does. It seems like it asks a lot, but things like tun weight might be missing iirc. Use what the recipe says.
