Short list of things to measure and set in BeerSmith for accurate All-Grain brew

F

FrugalBrewer

I am new to All-Grain and to BeerSmith also.

Could anyone offer a short, complete, list of the items/profiles I should test, measure, and set in BeerSmith to accurately estimate my brew sessions.

Examples:

1.) Kettle boil off/evap rate.
2.) Mash Efficiency
3.) MLT Weight (thermal Mass) and deadspace.
4.) Equipment Volumes

etc....

Hi Frugalbrewer,

The Beersmith website has a very good help file on setting up your brewery in Beersmith http://www.beersmith.com/equipment_setup.htm this will take you through all of the features you need to set up your equipement and session. Don't forget to look at the equipement presets under options, your equipement may already be there.

Don't forget to set the units of measurement you will be using as well. Beersmith is very easy to setup with minimul imputs required to get your brewing started. If you use a refractometer then calibrate it during your first couple of brews using the "refractometer" tab in the options menu.

Cheers
Andrew
