Did a wit beer today and my yeast was bad [3942 Bel weat ] . Only thing I had was US 05. How will that effect The beer?
Thanks in advance

It will make a different beer.  Where the Begian strain produces apple, bubblegum and like flavors, the US-05 is a clean american yeast making a plain, flavorless beer.  Disclosure:  I very much dislike american wheat beers.

You should taste the wheat, but you won't have the esters produced by the yeast.  Last time I used a hefe yeast, when I kegged it it smelled so terrible I thought it had gone bad, but it turned out great. So if you use the Belgian yeast next time and it smells terrible, don't worry about it.

I made a Kolsch using WLP029 which made my kitchen smell like a vegetarians fart for two weeks. It turned out great without the slightest hint of the 'atmosphere of Uranus'.
