I am looking for a Black Butte clone. Totally forgot I was brewing for a friend's wedding. Her Father In Law to be and her husband to be love the stuff and I said I would. Gotta have it ready by the 26th of this month. Luckily I keg so I can do it, but only if I brew this weekend.

If anyone has a good recipe for this beer, please share with me! Thanks!

I found a couple of choices:
http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/recipe/black-butte-porter-clone  directly from Deschutes but no amounts

http://www.beersmith.com/forum/index.php?topic=2773.0    from a Beersmith forum discussion back in 2009

        http://byo.com/recipes-tag/item/539-deschutes-black-butte-porter-clone  from BYO in 2001

This might put you on the right path.

I hope this helps.

Baders has a recipe for Black Butte Clone in their recipe file.  They also sell an extract kit called Cannonball Porter.  It is their extract clone for Black Butte.  It's $42.75 for the ingredients for a 5 gallon batch.  You might as Scott (Bader employee) how close the extract kit comes to Black Butte.  I'm not sure if there is an all grain recipe in their recipe files.

I'm working on putting something together from the links above, I found a thread on homebrewtalk where a guy said he used chocolate wheat malt. Thinkin about trying that if Bader has it.

Ok here's what i am thinking about going with, based off what I already have (magnum hops for example) and what the lhbs store has listed on the website.
