Mash Step Volumes Mismatch?

I have a feeling I am missing something... Here is what has me puzzled. When I input a recipe and click on the Mash section for that recipe, I can view the mash infusion steps and I will see, for example, the Protein Rest with the description of Add 11.25 qt of water at 131.8F. If I double click on that step, the window for that mash step opens and I see Step Temperature of 122.0F, Water to add 8.04 qt at 131.8F. I always have a mismatch in the volumes on all of my recipes. For this one, the mismatch is 11.25 qts of water vs 8.04 qts of water. Why is this?

Does the difference equal your lauter tun deadspace in your equipment profile and do you have the box checked for adjust mash for deadspace?
