Another new brewer

on 7th batch. so far extract + grains brewing.  making usual mistakes.  had first krousen thru the airlock

I've changed clogged air lock so many times that I lost count. I used to set the alarm just to do it. those days are on the most part over.
welcome to the site. I find this site one of the best, you won't be a newbe long with all the good advice here. 

That's why sites like this are so great.  With people posting when things don't go well you don't have to experience problems to learn from them.
I make it a habit now to use a blow off tube and bucket with sanitizer for the first few days, then switch it out to an airlock.  Works great.
