Hello everyone,

I've got a kilogram of raw organic rye I picked up on sale and I was wondering how to use it. Should I cook it beforehand? Crack it in large or smaller chunks? Just mash it? Thanks!

It's for my first brew with rye...

In a raw state the enzymes will not be able to convert the starches. You'll need to gelatinize / cook it first.
