Batch Size VS Equiptment profile
« on: September 08, 2015, 02:55:22 PM »
My Equipment Profile for my extract gear is set to 5 gallon batches with a 2.5 gallon top off after a 3.1 gallon original boil volume and boil off (gets me 5 into the fermenter.) If I want to scale my recipe down to 4.5 gallons to get my OG higher with the same ingredients can I adjust the Batch Size right on the recipe tab or do I need to modify my equipment profile? So In this instance I would plan on my original boil being the same but topping off to 4.5 gallons rather than 5.  I want my numbers to be as accurate as possible and I do not have perfect boil off loss or fermenter loss numbers yet.

Yes. Changing the top off volume would show a higher gravity and accurately reflect your method.
