How to apply my equipment profile to a recipe sent to me

I'm wondering the proper way to apply my Equipment Profile to a recipe that was sent to me? I feel like changing the dropdown and pressing OK might not be the right answer.

I found one thread that says first press "Scale Recipe" and provide the Batch Size and Tot Efficiency that matches the profile that you will soon select. Press OK. Then change the Equipment dropdown to your actual Equipment Profile.

Is this correct?
 
When you scale recipe to your equipment, the efficiency should reflect that. You'd change it if it was needed. It's just another of many places BeerSmith lets you adjust.
