no bubbles in airlock after only three days in fermenter

Is it a bucket fermenter?  They are notorious for not sealing completely.  The CO2 might be leaking past the seal, instead of through the airlock.  Take a peak inside, if it is a bucket fermenter and see if you had or have a krausen.
 
I think its normal for all of us newbies to panic. My brew buddies call me Panic Boy. haha I brewed an Oktoberfest on Tuesday and it is just now starting to bubble. It had formed a krausen so I knew it would just be a matter of being patient. Mine is fermenting at 50* so its a little slower going anyway from what I am told.
