I have just added This yeast strain to my list on beer smith and when I add it to my recipe it drops the ABV from 6% down to 2.9% :-\
Have I done something wrong ???? I cut and pasted the details of the yeast strain from the Wyeast web site when I added into my yeast list.  Here they are .

SPECIFICATIONS
Origin: US West Coast.
Flocculation: Medium - High.
Attenuation: 73 - 80%.
Temperature Range: 17°C to 23°C.
Alcohol Tolerance: 10% ABV

If anyone can give me some help as to why this is happening or where I have gone wrong it would be very much appreciated.

What was the yeast properties of the 6% calculation?
Compare the attenuation range of the two yeasts.

thanks for the reply BVM. after going over everything a few time I found that I entered the attenuation wrong.
Being the first time I have added a new yeast in to beersmith  I did not do this correctly.
it has a min and max attenuation and I did not enter the min.  I put 73-80% in the one box.
beginner error I guess.

Thanks.
