Spice in receipt

Hello, I just got into brewing all grain.  And I've been following the recipes pretty good my dear is turning out good.  A recipe I have calls for Ginger has a spice at the last 10 minutes. My question is would this be  Dried or fresh ginger?
 
I have always used fresh ginger.  However, I have always used 1 ounce of ginger in the secondary for about 7 days.  You may wish to use more based on your preference.
