Hello all!
I finally bit the bullet and purchased BeerSmith! I wished I had done it last year when I first started out, great program!
I am living in Sudbury, Ontario Canada and started all grain brewing last fall after attending a micro-brewery festival...I decided I had to have a go at this home-brew phenomenon. So far I have only done seven IPA 5 gal batches with varied results, all were drinkable but, only the 5th & 6th batch I would consider being good enough to sell. I am in the secondary fermentation stage of my 7th batch now , it is a blonde ale and my first batch with BeerSmith, so far everything has been working out as BeerSmith said it should and I am very excited to try it in a few weeks. I am experimenting with this batch as I have split the batch into three fermenters and used three different yeast, Safale S-04, US S-05 & a lager yeast S-23... upon placing them into the secondary I tasted each and was pleasantly surprised at the difference the yeast made, but I am afraid the lager will turn out to be not so good as I didn't have a cold enough fermentation temperature (72deg)...stay tuned
I am looking forward to joining this community and learning from anyone willing to share! Cheers!
Phil
