My krausen looks like a blond version of Kramer's hair on Seinfeld... or maybe not so much? If you look at the pictures I've included, you'll see the exponential growth of my krausen over the last four days.  Each day it's growing more than the previous, with the most happening in the last 24 hours. This seems odd to me since I would expect it to be dropping by now. The day I am reporting this info is at the end of Day 4.

Here are some specs:

- 3.25 Gal batch in a 5 Gal Carboy
- WLP001 California Ale. MFG Date was 7/12/16 (Less than 2 months old)
- Made a 1.3L starter on stir plate with 270B cells. Pitched 60% into the wort (162B), saved 40% in mason jar for future use (108B).
- Beersmith said to pitch 130B cells
- Pitched when starter was at 68F and wort at 67F.
- Cooled the water in the ice bucket to 65F and have kept it there (+/-0.7F) for first 3 days.
- Day 4 (today) I'm raising to 66F and continuing to 68F by Day 8.
- Using ice packs and Thermopen for regulating water around beer.

I'm aware that the % of carapils is high, but this is per the direct reply from a brewer at Founders stating he used 8-10% carapils in the recipe.  He wasn't much more specific than that. Searching online, you'll also find info about how they openly use four different types of crystal malts.  With all of the carapils and the crystal malts in there, is it possible that these head-retaining malts are preventing the krausen from falling?

I'm preparing my first blowoff valve right now assuming that it's just going to get worse overnight as I increase the fermentation temps over the next few days.  Should I be worried about contamination from wild yeast?
