Interpreting Mash Steps in Beersmith

On the Mash tab the Sparge directions say "Batch sparge with 2 steps (Drain mash tun, 2.04gal) of 168.0F water". I interpret this to mean, drain the mash tun, then add 2.04 gallons of water at 168.0F. However under the Sparge/Lauter header just below, it lists Sparge Vol at 0.54 gallons.

1. Which is correct? Or how should I be interpreting these conflicting instructions?
2. Could this mean that I need to add 2.04 gallons of water to the mash tun for the batch sparge, but I only need 0.54 gallons to get to my pre boil volume of 4 gallons.

Thanks

You have a massive post mash gravity. It's pretty much what I'd expect with a post boil gravity for a huge barleywine. In your equipment profile, check to make sure your volumes and top up water values are where you want them.

If you have a large amount of top up water, that will skew the sparge volumes.
