Getting used to BeerSmith as I've used and enjoyed ProMash for a long, long time.

Calculating ABV for a peach mead I recently made. Took temp and hydro readings and adjusted for hydro temp calibration.

I thought ABV calculation was a simple matter and should calculate the same ABV/ABW if the input OG and FG are identical.

Not so.

Beersmith gives me slightly different numbers than ProMash. Why?

Please see the 2 attached images.

I don't think there is anything more than rounding error between the two programs.

Also, I don't think Promash has been updated in over 10 years.

What method does Beersmith use to calculate ABV?

ABV = (OG - FG) / 131.25

or

ABV = (ABW * (FG/.794))

or some other calculation?
