Hi All,

Apologies if this has been answered. I searched (a bit!) but couldn't find it.

I'd like to know how the Beersmith 2 software decides which grain absorption constant to pull into the brew calculations?

I BIAC (colander) so have a relatively low value. I could set it against both 'BIAB Grain Absorb' and 'Grain Absorption' labels, but would rather know when each is pulled in.

Cheers

Mike

When you look at your mash profile, there is a section marked 'Brew in a bag (BIAB) and full boil mash'.  When this is checked, the program references the BIAB grain absorption rate otherwise it will default to the standard absorption rate.
