I just finished a cream ale, and attempted my first heast harvest. I made a 5 gallon batch, with SafeAle 005 yeast. After following the process in several videos and instructions, I wound up with two 8-oz. mason jars. Could this really be that much yeast from a much smaller amount of dry yeast?

Oh yeah. During the early stages of fermentation the yeasts reproduce quite a lot.
