Quick question as I'm trying to dial in a new equipment profile and I've never paid much attention to it in the past. When setting the Loss to trub/chiller field, do I use my post boil volume before or after chilling?

Thanks!
Mike

Measure it cold or cool. It's listed post chill in your equipment profile.

That said, loss to trub/chiller isn't about temperature. It's the volume left behind that doesn't get into the fermenter. If you have a counterflow chiller, then trub is hot and the chiller is cool. If you have immersion, then it's all cooled.

Thanks, that's what I was leaning towards but I just wanted to make sure. I have a pretty small counterflow, so I usually will recirculate it to get it down to pitching temp before transferring to fermenter. I had about .4 gal difference between flame out volume and transfer volume.

Thanks!
Mike
