program not reducing inventory???

Hi Brad
I have noticed that when I am in the recipe view and click the "remove from inventory " tab the inventory is adjusted for the original ingredient feilds that came preloaded with BeerSmith but if I have added new ingredients to the grains and adjuncts or hops inventory screen the totals on hand are not reduced.
Is there a way around this problem

 I know for a fact that items won't get removed from inventory unless the program finds an exact match in the database.  I probably need to have it do a better "fuzzy match" for like items in some cases.

 I tried the following experiment however:

 1. Created a new hops called "My Hops"
 2. Set the inventory to 10 oz
 3. Created a recipe
 4. Added 1 oz of "My Hops" to the recipe
 5. Pushed "Remove from inventory" for the recipe
 6. Went back and checked - and indeed it had 9 oz in inventory

 I'm interested in what scenario you are trying...

I just tried what you did and it worked just as you said. I then went and checked my recipe, sorry for wasting your time but you were right I had 2 entries for the same malt in my inventory and only one had an amount on hand I was using the other.
