Hi everyone,

If you have any advice and/or pictures relating to building a 1BBL electric brewery I'd love to hear from you - especially it pertains to putting together a control panel and a mash tun.  At this point, I have three 5500W ripple elements, three NEMA 5-15 cords (plugs on one end, other end is somehow supposed to wire up to the elements), and that's it!  I came across Black Friday deals on PIDs on Amazon but I have no idea which one I need or how many.

Thanks for any info you're able to share

Basically, you need a PID for each place you want to independently control temperature. So, one for the HLT and the other for the boil kettle, at the least.

There are several good YouTube videos that'll set you in the right direction. Here's one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBCH_6kNQTc that'll get you started. Plus, http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/ has parts, tutorials and will custom build for you.

Hi,

Maybe you can consider stove heating? As 5500w is not enough for 1bbl brewing tank heating.
Normally we suggest 10KW for heating.
