Mead/beer Hybrid

A

alexnelsen98

hey guys just seeing if there is anybody out there that has brewed anything like a beer mead hybrid. I have an idea for a honey nut brown I must brew for a wedding this summer. I read on an article somewhere that you can use honey for somewhere up to 40% of your fermentables. any suggestions on yeast types as well as structuring your grainbill with base and specialty malts, or correct me if i am far mistaken.

Cheers

What you describe is called a Braggot and it is a mix of beer and mead.  It can be made with the honey all at once or you can make the beer and mead separately and combine them "to taste".  The second method is easier as it lets you get the balance just right.
