Randy Mosher (radical brewing)  says 1lb sugar added in a 5 gallon batch adds 1.0094 og. This is a pure unrefined palm sugar.  It is along the same line as Demerara or Turbinado.  Supposedly better than "candy sugar" from the LHBS.

I want to plug it into BeerSmith so I can use it in Belgian recipees I want to craft.

Does that gravity/pound ration sound correct?

Thanks!

I used the Very unscientific approach. I tasted it and it seemed very consistent with the Turbinado that I had on hand. So I made a copy of the Turbinado and renamed it. I turned both of the sugars into Candi Sugar for two different beers. Both of which turned out great.

Cheers

Cool Preston, I will probably do that too.  I have some "fun yeast" to build on.

I'll post on them in the brewing area for others.
