Hi There,
I have just returned to brewing after a long gap.
My local tap water  kills of the yeast. I will look here for help to solve this problem. I have tried bottled water sucessfully but i would prefere to use tap water.
Thanks for any help.
Happy drinking

The first thing I would try is a good water filter system. You can buy a do-it-yourself kit or hire a professional to help.

I have a double filter (charcoal+Filter) and it works great. I change the filters about twice a year for about $30 each.

Cheers
Preston

I have always used a "Brita" from my kitchen sink, I haven't noticed any problems so far, I forgot how much it was (it's been so long) but it wasn't much, from what I recall
