Hey, I've been brewing for a number of years, semi-regularly, and recently went to AG brewing. I had no trouble with the first 2 batches, using BS to calculate water, temp, etc. Those were 5 gallon batches.
Last night, I went to brew a 2.5 gallon batch, and I was totally thrown on the mashing technique. Normally I would add strike water, and rest for 1 hour, then sparge twice with equal amounts of water to get boil volume. I believe this would be a no mash out technique, although I'm not sure what a mash out really is or what it does.
I know BS had shown this for the first 2 batches, but this time there was only a single sparge volume and I'm not sure how to get it to give me the steps in 2 parts. It seems like a pretty common method of rinsing grain and I would think that a software as sophisticated as BS would be able to show this in the brewsheet?
I'm sure there must be some settings I'd need to change in order to get this to work out.
