I just finished brewing an all grain batch of ale. I have a question about my gravity readings. My pre-boil gravity was 1.061, and my O.G. reading was 1.065 after the boil. In the past there has always been a difference of about seven or more points after the boil, this time it is only four. Is there a problem with my wort,or is this normal with some beers? ??? Thanks,  Cowboy Up!

There are a couple factors that go into this. Things like how vigorous you boiled, volumes of water start and finished with, gravity of each batch, and length of your boil. If all things were the same then you could expect a similar outcome. But then it would not be as fun right! Sounds normal to me.

Cheers

I've had several that changed only 5-6 points, so four is not that different.
