Molasses

C

curdaddy

When I add Molasses to my recipe, it does not allow me to control what time I add it to the boil.  It either has it at 60 minutes, or I have to add it after the boil.

I am wondering if this is a limitation of the trial, or if I am missing something.

I have also noticed that this is the case with brown sugar.

Thanks for your help.

I believe it is because Molasses is categorized as a grain (sugar) and that functionality appears limited to hops.

Brad - it might be useful to include a drop-down similar to <HOP USE> and <BOIL FOR> for sugar adjuncts like sugars, syrups, molasses, treacle, etc.

A friend and I have been experimenting with exactly when to add D2 syrup to dubbels and other styles to maximize the rummy & fruity goodness without getting a syrupy note.  Is there currently any work-around other than <Notes>?
