Notes
Wyermann brand Caramel malt - similar to Caramel or Crystal malt of the same color range. Adds body, color and improves head retention.
 
 
So is this the same as a crystal 40? The reason  I ask is this chart.

Yes, caramunich is a medium crystal. I like it better -- a lot better -- than "generic" crystal 40. But the two are pretty similar, really.
