HTML question for posting here
« on: February 25, 2010, 12:37:32 PM »
If you click on the HTML 'table' buttons you get the standard tags for table, row and cell.
When I create a small table elsewhere, and try to copy it in here, it does not work and shows all the tags.
Why is that?  I am a HTML neophyte, so no large words please.   :D

Etcetera.......I was trying to make a summary table of the water profiles, thinking Brad could slurp them into BeerSmith if desired.   And to keep the topic from getting tediously long.

PS:  I finally noticed that the buttons here use brackets [], and not <> tags like HTML, so I guess it is not the same.

Can you post what you are seeing? Maybe a screen-shot?

BB code is a set of tags based on the HTML language that you may already be familiar with. They allow you to add formatting to your messages in the same way as HTML does, but have a simpler syntax and will never break the layout of the pages you are viewing. The ability to use BB code is set on a forum-by-forum basis by the administrator, so you should check the forum rules when you post a new message.

I do web sites if you need some help let me know.

As you can see they are all beer related. Isn't that suprising!

I hope this helps.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but have not found the time - in theory you should be able to create a BBS code text template for a recipe that would allow you to display your recipes in "BBS code" which is recognized by most modern discussion forums.

Unfortunately posting HTML does not work as the raw HTML code gets translated by the forum software into text.
