mashtun weight

when choosing the mashtun weight the default for the Igloo/Gott Cooler (5 Gal) is 4 punds.

I put my round cooler with everything hooked up, false bottome etc. with the lid on and it weighs 7lbs 4oz.

I should use that number right?

ok the question sounds stupid but im just trying to make sure i have it setup right.

 Please use your actual weight to get in the ballpark.

 Note however that in some cases you need to adjust the "Mash Tun Specific Heat" parameter as well.  While the default is a good starting point, the specific heat of plastics can vary quite a bit.  

If you find your temps come in a bit low, try upping this parameter a bit.  If you are too high try lowering it a bit.
