Hi all,

Hopefully a quick question. Recently started a Pineapple Melomel. While it's pretty easy to get the reading on the honey water mixture, how does one calculate the original gravity when you factor in the chunks of fruit? The pineapple comes out as 1.007 (after taking a brix of the juice).

Here's my math:
3 gal of honey/water mixture (1.116 o.g.)
6 pounds of frozen pineapple (potential entry is 1.007 for ingredient)

I'm assuming it's not as simple as adding .007 to 1.116, right?
