All,
I'm very interested in your first impressions of BeerSmith 1.3.

 Post your thoughts here.

Note - if you find a bug - please post it to the support forum instead.

Cheers!

Have just finished the upgrade and it all went smooth :D

The interface appears just as intuitive and I had no problems navigating around. Anyway, just first impressions. Will try to give it a real workout over the weekend

I down loaded updates for 1.2 yesterday.  With the new updates is my BeerSmith updated to 1.3?

I have just started using BeerSmith and think a flow chart or something which would show how the various pieces relate to each other.

Geo,
You can view your current version using the "About" command on the "Help" menu.

 It should show:
   Version 1_30
   Build   020

If you have a lower version number or build, I recommend downloading the latest version and installing it as an upgrade (setup should not destroy any recipes).

There are some nice summaries of the new features here:

The equipment tutorial helps you set up your equipment to use with BeerSmith:

I'm working on creating similar pages for many of the other BeerSmith features.  I might also recommend the FAQ and "tips" forums:

Cheers!

First blush, I dig it.  I really like that you enabled the mouse wheel scrolling in the edit frame of a recipe.
(that made sense right? ... )

Cheers!

nice work brad. Here's what i've found just printing out the different styles of report.

Normal shows the mash sched including sparge water and mash ph, carbonation etc. txt file only gives you the recipe and mash schedule excluding sparge water etc.

Is there anyway to include the same info in the txt file? Thats my only suggestion right now. Will be using again this weekend.

Bye for now,
Lee

Again nice work, love having the batch sparge capability and recipe converion to partial mash, extract is great.

Birkett,

This is a little complex, but you can customize your reports:

1. Go to the directory "C:\Program Files\BeerSmith\templates"
2. Make a copy of the file "recipetxt.txt" and give it a new name like "my_recipe.txt"
3. Edit this file - you can use any of the tags from the BeerXML standard (www.beerxml.com) with a '$' in front of them such as '$NAME' to add the fields you want.  You can look at the other templates to find out the named fields you want as well.
4. Open BeerSmith up, go to the "Reports" tab under the "Options" command (Tools menu)
5. Add your new report template, giving it a new name such as "My text view", set the type to "Recipe" and point to the text file you edited.

That's it - the new report will show up on your list of recipe report formats in the main window, and you can add anything you want to it by editing the file.

Please DON'T change any of the default recipe formats - as this can cause problems - always use a copy instead to add your own formats.

Cheers!
Brad
